If you’re dealing with IBS and constant bloating, I know how uncomfortable and frustrating it can be. I was diagnosed with IBS when I was 19 years old and I know what it is like to eat a healthy meal, and suddenly your stomach feels tight, gassy, and swollen. By the end of the day, you feel like you need to unbutton your pants because you feel so distended.

Here are the top 3 tips that I have seen makes the biggest difference.

  1. Try Taking Gluten Out for a Few Weeks

One of the first things I recommend is removing gluten. Gluten is a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye, and for many people it can be surprisingly hard to digest.

It’s also one of the biggest culprits I see when it comes to gas and bloating. In fact, gluten-containing foods often create more digestive upset than foods like broccoli or beans.

Try going gluten-free for 3–4 weeks and pay attention to how your stomach feels.

  1. Take a Good Probiotic Every Day

Your gut bacteria play a huge role in digestion. When they’re out of balance, bloating, constipation, and IBS symptoms can flare up.

I usually recommend a probiotic with at least 50 billion CFUs daily. At our clinic, we often use Wise XS Probiotic from a company called Wise Vitality.  It contains 100 billion CFUs, it is delayed release and it is shelf stable.  Patients absolutely love it!

  1. Book a Colonic Treatment

If you feel like your digestion needs a reset, colon hydrotherapy can be incredibly helpful.

A colonic gently flushes the colon and helps remove old stool, trapped gas, mucus, yeast, parasites, ammonia and other waste that can build up over time. Many people feel lighter, flatter, and much more comfortable right afterward.

If your belly feels bloated more often than not, these three steps are a wonderful place to start. Your gut can heal, and when it does, you’ll feel like yourself again.
