If you’re in your 40s or 50s and suddenly don’t feel like yourself, you’re not imagining it.
Maybe you’re dealing with hot flashes, poor sleep, fatigue, brain fog, mood changes, weight gain, PMS, heavy periods, or changes in your energy and libido. And you may be wondering, “Are my hormones the problem?”
Hormones can certainly be part of the picture—but I believe there is more to hormone health than simply replacing what may be missing.
That’s why my approach begins with you, not a prescription.
Before considering any hormone treatments (either synthetic from your doctor or even bio-identical hormones), it is important that you get a comprehensive hormone blood test and it is important you look look at other factors that can influence how you feel, including gut health and blood-sugar and insulin balance.
Why?
Because your body systems are connected.
A healthy gut and balanced blood sugar are important foundations for overall health. Addressing these areas may help you feel better and can be an important part of supporting your hormone health.
And when bio-identical hormones (I don’t recommend the synthetic ones) is appropriate, my goal is not to automatically give you a high dose of hormones. We look at your individual needs and determine whether hormone support may be appropriate for you.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to women’s health.
Whether you’re 42 and wondering why your periods and sleep have suddenly changed, or you’re 62 and thinking about your long-term bone, heart, and brain health, it’s never too late to start paying attention to your health.
You deserve to understand what’s happening in your body—not just be told to “live with it.”
